Mr. Nizam Uddin Ahmed

Mr. Nizam Uddin Ahmed holds the esteemed position of Chairman of the Board of Directors at Meghna Life Insurance PLC. He is a prominent business figure in Bangladesh, coming from a prestigious Muslim family. In 1971, he completed his Master’s Degree in Journalism and LLB from Dhaka University.

In addition to his role at Meghna Life Insurance PLC, Mr. Ahmed also serves as Chairman of Karnaphuli Insurance PLC, another leading non-life insurance company in the country. He holds directorship positions in Meghna Life Securities and Investment Limited and is the founder and Chairman of the Nizam Hasina Foundation.

Mr. Ahmed’s illustrious background includes serving as a Former Director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Former Vice-President of the Bangladesh Insurance Association. He has also been a Member of Parliament. Known for his visionary thinking, dedication, and skills in various socio-cultural activities, he has established numerous charitable organizations, including mosques, madrasahs, and colleges, both in his hometown Bhola and the capital.

Mr. Ahmed is admired for his simple lifestyle and profound intellect. He upholds ethical business practices, valuing honesty, sincerity, and high moral standards in all his endeavors. His business acumen has taken him on numerous trips to countries such as the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Australia, and India.
